Overview
About this tool
Reads Spotify’s public oEmbed record for any link and returns the cover at every rendition Spotify publishes, up to its 640×640 ceiling — with the size of a one-off cover measured rather than guessed.
Instructions
How to use it
Paste any open.spotify.com link — a track, album, artist, playlist, show or episode — or the spotify:album:… URI the desktop app copies from its share menu.
640 is the ceiling, and that is the whole story
Pinterest keeps an /originals/ copy; Apple Podcasts keeps a 3000. Spotify keeps neither. Album and artist images are published at 640, 300 and 64 pixels, and 640 is the largest that exists. Every result promising “HD Spotify cover art” is upscaling this same file and charging you attention for it.
How the sizes are reached
Spotify’s image URLs are a fixed prefix followed by the image’s own id, and the prefix is the size. Swapping it moves between renditions with no second request — the same trick the Pinterest downloader uses on width directories. A playlist mosaic or a podcast cover is served as one rendition only, so that row is fetched and measured instead of assumed.
Questions
Frequently asked
Can I get Spotify cover art in HD or 4K?
No, and nobody can. Spotify publishes album and artist images at a maximum of 640 × 640. Any larger file you are offered elsewhere was upscaled from this one.
Does this work for podcasts and playlists?
Yes, but those are served as a single rendition rather than a ladder, so the tool fetches that one image and reports its measured size instead of offering sizes that do not exist.
Do I need a Spotify account?
No. The tool uses Spotify’s public oEmbed endpoint, which needs no token and is the same route a link card uses.
What happens to the ?si= on my link?
It is dropped before anything is fetched. That parameter is a per-share id identifying the session the link was copied from, and there is no reason for it to travel with a request about an album cover.
