Overview
About this tool
Enter any channel — username, ID or URL — and see whether monetization is enabled, with the evidence it was decided on: channel memberships, the Shopping shelf and the 500-subscriber floor, each of which settles the question outright.
Instructions
How to use it
Paste a handle like @mkbhd, a UC… channel ID, or any channel URL — old /c/ and /user/ links included. The channel card, its counts and the verdict come back together.
What actually proves monetization
- Channel memberships — the Join button. YouTube only offers memberships to a channel already in the Partner Program, so seeing one settles it.
- The Shopping shelf — the Store tab. Same reasoning: YouTube Shopping requires monetization to be switched on first.
- Under 500 subscribers — conclusive the other way. That is the floor of the lowest tier, so nothing is available below it.
Why ads cannot be checked
YouTube does not serve ad slots to signed-out requests, so a channel earning ad revenue and nothing else leaves no public trace at all. When that is the case this tool says so instead of inventing a verdict — which is the whole difference between it and the checkers that always answer yes or no.
Questions
Frequently asked
It says “no public monetization features”. Is the channel monetized or not?
Unknown, honestly. The channel is past the subscriber floor but runs neither memberships nor a shop, which is the normal state for a monetized channel that only takes ad revenue — and identical, from outside, to one that has never applied. Nothing public separates the two.
Can I check my own channel this way?
You can, and you will get the same partial answer everyone else does. Your own status is in YouTube Studio → Earn, stated outright.
Do ads showing on a video prove the channel is monetized?
Not on its own. YouTube runs ads on some non-monetized channels without sharing the revenue, which is exactly why this tool does not treat an ad as evidence even where one could be seen.
The subscriber count is missing.
That channel has hidden it, which is a setting. The subscriber floor check is skipped rather than guessed, and the other two signals still stand.
