Why the page gives you 300 and Twitch keeps 600
Twitch names the dimensions in the path: an avatar is …-profile_image-300x300.png, and the number is the rendition rather than a signed parameter. The link card always publishes the 300, so a general image downloader reading og:image can only ever hand you that one — while the 600 sits at a URL nobody advertises.
Nothing here is guessed
Every candidate size is fetched and measured before it appears in the table. Twitch stops at 600 for avatars — 900 and 1200 answer 404 — and clip and VOD stills are kept at whichever sizes Twitch chose for that item, so two clips can offer different ladders. A row exists because a request for it came back with an image.

What is the largest Twitch profile picture?
600 × 600. Twitch stores that size and serves 300, 150, 70, 50 and 28 below it. URLs asking for anything larger answer 404 — there is no bigger file behind them.
Why did my VOD link return nothing?
Twitch serves its own logo in place of a thumbnail for a deleted VOD, a sub-only VOD and a channel that does not exist. The tool recognises that image and tells you rather than handing you the Twitch logo.
Can I download the clip video itself?
No. This tool handles images — the avatar, the clip still, the VOD thumbnail. Downloading somebody’s clip is a different question with a different answer, and it is not one we build for.
Does it work with a bare channel name?
