Overview
About this tool
Reads a public Threads post and hands back the image it publishes, with the signed link’s remaining life next to it. Both threads.com and the older threads.net addresses work, and the per-share tracking parameter is dropped first.
Instructions
How to use it
Paste a public Threads post link. Both the current threads.com address and the older threads.net one work — they are normalised before anything is fetched.
Why the link has a countdown on it
Threads runs on the same image infrastructure as Instagram, which means every image URL is signed and expires. The result reads that expiry out of the URL and shows it, because it changes what you should do next: save the file, rather than keeping the link and finding it dead later.
What comes back
The image the post publishes to link cards. A post carrying a set of pictures publishes the first one, so a set can come back as a single image — that is the card, not a failed read.
Questions
Frequently asked
Do threads.net links still work?
Yes. Threads moved to threads.com and both are in circulation, so both are accepted and normalised.
Nothing came back for my post.
Threads posts are text by default, so a post with no picture has nothing to hand back. If the post does have one, check it opens in a private browser window — a private profile is not public.
Can I ask for a larger copy?
No, and no tool can. The signature on the URL covers the size segment, so an edited address is an invalid address. What comes back is the largest copy Threads publishes.
Why is the tracking parameter removed?
The
igshid
Threads adds to a shared link is a per-share identifier. Fetching a link with it attached would tell Meta who forwarded the post to you, which is nobody’s business here.
