How to use it
Paste a post, video, Pin, profile or channel link. The tool works out which platform it is, builds the platform’s own short link if one can be derived from the URL, and hands back a cleaned version either way.
Which platforms actually have one
A first-party short link is a different thing from a bit.ly: it is served by the platform, it never expires, and it cannot be taken down by a shortening service going out of business. The field splits cleanly in two.

Why the tracking parameters go
igshid, si and share_id are per-share identifiers. A link you were sent, forwarded on with those intact, tells the platform who forwarded it to whom. Everything removed is listed in the result, so nothing disappears without you seeing it.

Is instagr.am safe to use?
It is Instagram’s own legacy domain and it still redirects to the same post. It is not, however, what the app’s share sheet produces, so use it where character count matters and the full instagram.com link where the domain being instantly recognisable matters more.
Why will you not shorten a TikTok link?
Because TikTok will not let anyone but TikTok do it. A vm.tiktok.com link is generated by the app when you tap Share, and no public method exists to create one. We would rather say so than hand you a redirect through somebody else’s server dressed up as a TikTok link.
Do these links track clicks?
Not for you. A first-party short link gives you no analytics — that is the trade for its permanence. If you need click data, add UTM parameters to the destination with our UTM builder rather than routing through a shortener.
Do short links hurt SEO?
A 301 from a platform’s own domain passes authority normally. The concern people have in mind is chains of third-party redirects, which add latency and can break — which is the case for using a first-party one.
