Where the hashtags come from
Every platform publishes a post’s caption in its Open Graph tags, because that is what renders when the post is shared somewhere else. That public metadata is what this reads — no login, no session, nothing that requires being signed in to the platform.
The honest consequence: a platform that answers an unauthenticated request with a sign-in page is reported as exactly that. Instagram and Facebook do this intermittently even for public posts. When it happens, copy the caption and paste it in — the extractor works on text with no fetch at all.
Tags are not hashtags
On YouTube the two are different things. Tags are invisible keywords in the upload settings; hashtags are part of the description and show above the title. This tool reads hashtags. For the hidden keywords, use the YouTube Tag Extractor.

Does it work with Instagram links?
When Instagram serves the post’s metadata, yes. It increasingly answers automated requests with a sign-in page instead, and no tool without a logged-in session can get past that. Pasting the caption text works every time.
Are hashtags case-sensitive?
No. #TravelTips and #traveltips reach the same feed on every major platform. Case only affects readability — which is a real consideration in a long multi-word tag, and why the results keep the original spelling by default.
Does it find hashtags in comments?
No, only in the post itself. Hashtags placed in the first comment — a common Instagram habit — are not part of the post’s published metadata.
Non-English hashtags?
Yes. Japanese, Arabic, Cyrillic and every other script are matched as written; an extractor that only understood A–Z would be useless to most of the world.
